Ebay 1 Google 0 ?
Google Checkout banned on eBayEBay Inc.,
The world’s largest online auctioneer, said its customers cannot accept payments using a service introduced by Google Inc. last week, saying it doesn’t have a sufficient track record.http://www.chicagotribune.com/technology/chi-060707google-ebay-story,1,6776952.story?coll=chi-business-hed
The war is only starting and it it going to be a bloody one!
This was so predictable; eBay has banned its sellers from requesting payment via the Google Checkout online saying it is unsafe.
Google did test his solution over and over again, so I really doubt this is the case. Google cannot afford unsafe solution not with thousands of shareholders.
But what is Ebay thinking? If Google is serious about Google checkout Ebay cannot stop them so they’d better accept it and not cut themselves from a significant business volume, they will have to find an agreement eventually.
So what about Google banning Ebay from its search results? May be an idea, but I do not think Google will play dirty. Google can still claim he is protecting its customers from all the recent fraud on Ebay
